GreenGo Helper Browser Extension
Last Updated: March 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how GreenGo Helper ("the Extension", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our browser extension. GreenGo Helper is a companion extension for the GreenGo desktop application that enables one-click audio analysis and processing.
Our Privacy Commitment: GreenGo Helper is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal data. All data processing happens locally on your device.
GreenGo Helper does NOT collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
We have no servers. There is no backend infrastructure, no database, and no remote data collection of any kind. The extension operates entirely on your local machine.
GreenGo Helper processes the following data locally on your device only to provide its core functionality:
What: Authentication data from supported sites that you are logged into.
Why: This data allows the GreenGo desktop app to access content on your behalf using your existing sessions.
Where: Session data is stored locally on your computer only.
Transmission: Session data is sent only to localhost:7291 (the GreenGo desktop app running on your own computer). It is never transmitted to any remote server.
What: The URL and title of audio you choose to send to GreenGo for analysis.
Why: To send processing requests to the GreenGo desktop app.
Where: This information is stored temporarily in:
~/Downloads/greengo_queue.jsonTransmission: URLs are sent only to localhost:7291 (your local GreenGo app). They are never transmitted to any remote server.
What: A list of audio items you've queued for processing when GreenGo was offline.
Why: To ensure audio is processed even if the GreenGo app isn't running when you click the send button.
Where: Stored locally in the extension's Chrome Storage and in ~/Downloads/greengo_queue.json.
Retention: Queue items are deleted automatically after they're successfully processed by GreenGo, or when you manually clear the queue.
GreenGo Helper requests the following browser permissions. Here's exactly why each one is needed:
Purpose: Read session data from supported sites so GreenGo can access your content on your behalf.
Scope: Only cookies from supported domains. No unrelated websites.
Purpose: Detect when you're on a supported audio page to show the send button and extract audio information (title, URL).
Scope: Only reads tab information when you're on supported pages.
Purpose: Save your download queue locally inside the extension so queued videos persist between browser sessions.
Scope: Uses Chrome's local storage API. Data never leaves your device.
Purpose: Write queue files to your local disk (e.g., ~/Downloads/greengo_queue.json).
Scope: Only writes to your Downloads folder. No files are uploaded anywhere.
Purpose: Periodically check (every 10 seconds) if the GreenGo desktop app is running, so queued videos can be automatically sent when the app comes online.
Scope: Only pings localhost:7291. No external network requests.
GreenGo Helper communicates only with the GreenGo desktop app running on your local machine. All communication happens over localhost (127.0.0.1) on port 7291.
The extension connects to these endpoints on your computer:
http://localhost:7291/ping — Health check to detect if GreenGo is runninghttp://localhost:7291/download — Send audio processing requestshttp://localhost:7291/cookies — Sync session data to GreenGohttp://localhost:7291/queue — Retrieve current processing queue statusGreenGo Helper does NOT connect to:
The only external domains the extension interacts with are supported audio sites (to inject the send button and read session data), and this interaction is limited to what's necessary for the extension to function.
We do not share any data with anyone. There is no data to share because we don't collect any data in the first place.
The extension does not integrate with:
GreenGo Helper does not use any third-party services, libraries, or SDKs that collect data. The extension is built using only:
GreenGo Helper does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect any data at all, the extension is safe for users of all ages.
Since all data processing happens locally on your device, the security of your data depends on:

You have complete control over your data:
~/Downloads/greengo_queue.jsonchrome://extensionsIf you don't want the extension to capture session data or send processing requests, simply uninstall it. There are no background processes or residual tracking after uninstallation.

We will never introduce data collection or tracking without explicit notice and user consent.
