Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about GreenGo — BPM detection, key analysis, DJ software compatibility, pricing, and more.

About GreenGo

What is GreenGo?

GreenGo is a Windows desktop application that automates the complete audio preparation workflow for DJs and producers. It imports media from cloud URLs (YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, Bandcamp, and more), automatically detects BPM and musical key, tags ID3 metadata, converts audio formats, and organizes your entire music library — all in one click.

Is GreenGo a subscription?

No. GreenGo is a one-time purchase of $24.95 USD. There is no subscription, no recurring charges, and all future updates are included. A free 3-day trial with full features is available — no credit card required.

Does GreenGo work on Mac?

GreenGo currently supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). A macOS version is in development. You can sign up on the download page to be notified when the macOS version is available.

What are the system requirements?

Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit), 4 GB of RAM, and approximately 500 MB of disk space. FFmpeg is bundled automatically on first launch. GreenGo is also available on the Microsoft Store.

BPM & Key Detection

How accurate is GreenGo's BPM detection?

GreenGo uses ultra high-precision BPM detection with multiple analysis methods including IOI histogram analysis and beat interval tracking with weighted consensus. It applies integer BPM snapping to common production tempos, a high-pass filter at 60 Hz to remove sub-bass interference, and beat phase coherence verification. The BPM range is 70–200, covering all major DJ genres from hip-hop to drum & bass.

How does GreenGo detect musical key?

GreenGo uses a multi-signal fusion key detection engine with genre-aware parameter profiles. It combines four independent methods: libKeyFinder DLL analysis, librosa chroma ensemble (CQT + CENS + STFT), STFT-only chroma analysis, and sub-bass root detection for EDM tonic confirmation. Results are output in both Camelot notation (Rekordbox, Serato, VirtualDJ) and Open Key notation (Traktor).

What is Camelot notation?

Camelot notation is a simplified key labeling system used by DJs for harmonic mixing. Each musical key gets a number (1–12) and a letter (A for minor, B for major). For example, A minor = 8A, C major = 8B. Keys adjacent on the Camelot wheel (same number or ±1) sound good when mixed together. GreenGo outputs both Camelot and Open Key notation automatically.

Does GreenGo detect mood and energy?

Yes. GreenGo includes a vibe detection engine powered by machine learning — RandomForest and XGBoost models trained on over 14,000 tracks. It detects energy (1–10), danceability (1–10), and mood labels including Aggressive, Intense, Euphoric, Dark, Neutral, Happy, Melancholic, Chill, and Romantic. Mood detection uses genre-aware probability weighting for improved accuracy.

Can GreenGo batch process multiple tracks?

Yes. GreenGo supports batch processing with configurable parallel workers (1–8 threads). Paste multiple URLs at once for batch downloading, or select an entire folder of local files for batch BPM, key, and mood analysis. All results are automatically written to ID3 tags.

DJ Software Compatibility

Does GreenGo work with Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, and VirtualDJ?

Yes. GreenGo writes BPM, musical key (Camelot and Open Key), title, artist, and genre directly into ID3 tags (TBPM, TKEY, TXXX:INITIALKEY, TXXX:OPENKEY). These tags are automatically recognized by Rekordbox, Serato DJ, Traktor, VirtualDJ, and any other DJ software that reads standard ID3 metadata.

What audio formats does GreenGo support?

GreenGo supports MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, M4A, and OGG. Audio quality options include 128kbps, 192kbps, 256kbps, and 320kbps. BPM and key detection works on all supported formats.

What platforms can GreenGo download from?

GreenGo can import audio from YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, Bandcamp, Facebook, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitter/X, Twitch, and any other URL supported by yt-dlp. The GreenGo Helper browser extension adds one-click downloading from these platforms directly from your browser.

GreenGo vs Alternatives

How is GreenGo different from Mixed In Key?

Mixed In Key ($58) focuses on key and BPM analysis of local files. GreenGo ($24.95) is a complete pipeline — it downloads audio from URLs, detects BPM and key, detects mood and energy, writes ID3 metadata, converts formats, and organizes your library automatically. GreenGo also includes a free browser extension for one-click downloads from 10 platforms. One-time purchase, no subscription.

How is GreenGo different from Tunebat?

Tunebat is a free online BPM and key finder that analyzes uploaded audio files in your browser. GreenGo is a desktop application that handles the entire workflow — downloading from URLs, batch BPM and key detection, mood analysis, ID3 metadata tagging, format conversion, and library organization. GreenGo processes files locally with multi-algorithm fusion for higher accuracy and writes results directly into your audio files.
